Golfers Go For Gold

With Western Sydney Academy of Sport leading the way into Sunday’s competition, there were several other academies hot on their tails to perform on the final day of competition at Magenta Shoes.

Competing athletes from both the boys and girls divisions showed incredible finesse, concentration and skill as they made their way around the courses. However, as the day came to a close, the final rankings saw leaders emerge in both the individual and team events.

The ClubsNSW Academy Games was a huge success for golfers with both The Springs GC and Magenta Shores staff and course providing a great experience for our juniors/Academy members.

Both courses proved to be a challenge for the 55 juniors.

The Springs provided an average score of 83.2 while Magenta, proved even tougher with an average of 89.8.

Eventually, the boys from Western Sydney Academy of Sport dominated the weekend, taking the top three positions in the individual event, and the teams.

The individual final rankings and places were as follows:

Boys:
1st - Bradley Doherty (WSAS)
2nd - Josh Gadd (WSAS)
3rd - Mark Hancock (WSAS)

Girls:
1st - Danni Vasquez (IAS)
2nd - Makensie Toole (HAS)

The results of the team scores are as follows:

1st - Western Sydney Academy of Sport

2nd - Central Coast Academy of Sport

3rd - Illawarra Academy of Sport

Congratulations to all of the boys and girls who competed in this weekends event and thank you to all of the academies who competed.
